Blue Anchor Bay Condos has been the best selling condo's at the Lake for the past 7 years.
This it the history of how it happened: Blue Anchor Bay Condominiums was the vision of the Westhues Family. Mark Westhues brought the idea of developing and building Lakefront Condominiums to his 5 siblings in 2005
Greg, Gary Mike, Mark, Keith Westhues and Karen Prichard were at the time working together operating and growing their Electrical Contracting business (Westhues Electric Inc.) in Kansas City. After many meetings and planning sessions the decision was made to purchase 1,600 feet of lakefront property that was then the Blue Anchor Marina located in the Gravois Arm of the Lake of The Ozarks. The Marina was one of the original Marinas at the lake with a couple of the dock permits dating back to the 1940's.
Heavy earth moving equipment was purchased and the razing of the existing docks and Marina buildings started in late 2005. Mike took the lead in the construction aspects of the project while Mark worked on the design, permitting, marketing and sales aspects.
The first building (Bldg #3) was completed in Aug of 2006 which was quickly filled with families from Iowa, Kansas, Illinois and Missouri.
Construction continued with the next Building #2 amid the recession that really hit the lake hard. Blue Anchor Bay was one of only a few new projects that survived and continued to grow during those difficult financial times. One reason was the wisdom of the developers to establish Blue Anchor Bay as a Fannie Mae approved Condominium Project. With the ability to secure home mortgages by condo buyers, consistent sales continued and in 2012 Building #1 was completed and sold quickly. One of the many other reasons for the continued success is the attention to detail, quality of construction, the absolutely amazing 2 Mile lake views and the many great families who reside at Blue Anchor Bay. Pride in ownership is a much discussed topic at the frequent community gatherings.
Mike Westhues lost his life to cancer during this period and his knowledge and skills were greatly missed.
Bldg #5 was completed in 2014 and the final Bldg #6 and the second swimming pool was completed in 2015. The sales were very strong and by May 2016 all 101 condos were completed, sold and occupied. Also in 2015 and 2016 eight exclusive Lakefront Villa's were constructed, sold and occupied. The Villas priced out in the low $600,000.
Now Blue Anchor Bay is complete.
